Don maximizes the results for his clients by instituting a listen first approach. A keen awareness of his clients’ needs coupled with a personal drive to strive for perfection in effort is the way Don approaches each search and the reason clients retain his services. His attitude, effort and delivered results are contributing factors as to why his clients continue to rehire him.
Don’s early roots in recruiting began as an intern while in college placing nurses and other healthcare professionals for Maxim Healthcare. His next foray in the industry was recruiting, training and managing an entire call center staff for StubHub, while employed by Ultimate Staffing Services.
Don graduated from the University of Connecticut with a BA in Liberal Arts and a major in History. He is an avid golfer, and a Certified High School basketball referee with IAABO Board 10, and serves on both the Training and Better Officiating committees. Don enjoys speaking at local schools on Career Day and has made many friends at the Red Cross during his frequent trips to donate blood and blood platelets.
Don’s crowning life achievement is marrying his beautiful wife, Lindsay Tinker in June 2014. She is a teacher in the Hartford School System and in April 2019, she gave birth to their majestic son, Maverick Lee Tinker. Maverick loves running through the house & yard, corn-on-the-cob, and copying his daddy’s golf swing.
At work or play, Don thrives in pressure situations. He wants the putter in his hand when a clutch putt needs to be made.
Don has helped me fill a couple of positions in recent years and both times the experience was very positive. Not only is he very good at finding suitable candidates, but he also excels at managing the whole process, from arranging interviews to signing the offer letter
Don is a master of his craft. He is a professional recruiter who understands that his clients are not looking for a job, but rather they are seeking a career with an organization where there is mutual alignment to support their goals, skills, and personal needs. He knows that a healthy employee-employer relationship is critical to the success of the company and the employee. When in a career search with Don, he works tirelessly behind the scenes to be sure candidates are well prepared for client interviews, managing the feedback loop between the potential employer following the interview(s), and negotiating the best possible offer with the employer to ensure a win-win for all parties involved in the recruiting, hiring, and onboarding process. If there are red flags that arise at any point during the process - even post-hire - Don resolves these expeditiously by seeking the facts, ensuring transparency of the issue(s), and working with you to make the tough calls on your behalf. Don is not just your average recruiter. He is your coach, advocate, cheerleader, and friend during your career search as well as years down the road when you are enjoying your new job.
