The PSM Environmental Engineer ensures compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards at a Sumter, SC manufacturing site. Key responsibilities include managing High Hazard and Process Safety Management programs, conducting risk assessments, overseeing Risk Management Plans, and ensuring OSHA, EPA, and PSM compliance. This role involves supporting capital projects, leading hazard analyses, managing incident investigations, and coordinating with emergency services while fostering a strong safety culture and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of regulations.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Management, Safety and Health, or a related field.
- 5-7 years managing site-level safety programs, including 5+ years handling hazardous substances.
- Hands-on experience leading PHAs/HAZOPs and evaluating projects.
- Background in lab, manufacturing, sterilization, and warehouse environments.
- Proficiency in OSHA, PSM, EPA regulations, building codes, and preparing environmental permits.
- Experience conducting PSM audits and implementing high hazard/environmental management systems.
- Familiarity with environmental permitting, such as US Title V or equivalent.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- CSP, CIH, or CHMM certification preferred.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
