Role Snapshot:
As an E/S Underwriter, you’ll drive profitable growth across Florida by underwriting new business, managing agency partnerships, and identifying opportunities for expansion. You’ll build strong relationships with agents, deliver accurate and timely quotes and policies, achieve performance goals, review audits and inspections for accuracy, mentor junior underwriters, and coordinate facultative reinsurance to ensure profitable results.

The Ideal Candidate:

• 5+ years of commercial P&C underwriting experience; E&S background preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to manage agency relationships and grow profitable business.
• Skilled in evaluating risk, pricing policies, and setting terms within authority.
• Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Proficient with Windows-based tools (Word, Excel, Email) and comfortable in paperless, online underwriting environments (e.g., SAGE, Silver Plume, Reference Connect).
• Willingness to travel within the territory (up to 50%)—approximately 120 agency visits annually.
• Professional insurance coursework (e.g., CPCU, ASLI, AU) is a plus.
