What You'll Do
What You'll Do
- Perform a variety of diagnostic ultrasound examinations while obtaining high-quality images for physician interpretation
- Prepare and identify patients, explain procedures, and ensure patient comfort, safety, and privacy
- Assist physicians with biopsies, aspirations, transvaginal studies, OR procedures, and other specialized exams
- Utilize Cerner, HIS, RIS, PACS, and ultrasound equipment efficiently
- Maintain accurate exam documentation and patient records
- Clean and disinfect ultrasound equipment and probes according to manufacturer guidelines and infection control standards
- Coordinate and prioritize inpatient and outpatient ultrasound requests
- Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and equipment
- Support ACR accreditation standards and departmental quality initiatives
- Assist with clinical instruction of ultrasound students as needed
- Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
- Current RDMS, RT(S), RVT, RVS, or equivalent ultrasound certification
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and diagnostic ultrasound techniques
- Experience performing a variety of ultrasound examinations in a clinical or hospital setting
- Ability to make sound technical decisions while producing high-quality diagnostic images
- Excellent communication and patient care skills
- Basic computer proficiency and experience working with hospital information systems preferred
- Ability to stand, walk, move equipment, and assist patients throughout the workday
- 13-week temporary assignment with a respected hospital-affiliated practice
