ABOUT THE POSITION…
We are looking for a Senior Underwriter with expertise in property and casualty underwriting to evaluate complex risks and manage high-value accounts. Responsibilities include overseeing Commercial Liability and Property policies for Public and Affordable Housing, negotiating underwriting decisions, fostering strong relationships with business partners, and analyzing statistical data.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE HAS…
- Extensive expertise in Property & Casualty commercial lines (Property, General Liability, Auto), including coverage forms, rating plans, and complex risk assessment.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, with at least 5 years of commercial underwriting experience.
- Proven experience working with agents/brokers and familiarity with facultative reinsurance placements.
- Ability to lead and organize team meetings.
- Knowledge of public and affordable housing operations.
- Strong collaboration skills across departments and effective decision-making within authority limits to meet organizational objectives.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Solid grasp of regulatory compliance and market trends.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- CPCU designation and agent licensing are a plus.
