The Underwriter will be responsible for all aspects of underwriting and servicing insurance accounts. This includes reviewing accounts for acceptability, completing underwriting and pricing, preparing, and submitting accounts to the carrier, negotiating pricing and coverages, working with sales staff to develop business, serving as the primary contact for agents and brokers, and handling account problems. They will also play a support role with less experienced peers.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE HAS:
- 5+ years of commercial property and casualty underwriting experience.
- Prior experience underwriting general liability, heavy auto and/or property a plus.
- Prefer carrier underwriting experience / training.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment; ability to work in a fast-paced environment with seasonal volume.
- Ability to work with limited supervision and strong customer service commitment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Insurance curriculum classes a plus.
