Seeking a well-rounded engineer with years of experience to add to our MA TECH team. Strong preference for experience in ultrasound imaging and/or active implants. There will be some travel to meetings, conferences, etc.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for execution of all technical / engineering / research deliverables for projects including the overall design of a product and all engineering documentation to support it. Working with Engineering Management, they construct and oversee engineering project architecture, ensure the successful execution of assigned engineering projects and provide technical guidance for engineering teams (both internal and external). They identify, communicate and work to resolve all technical challenges within a project. They may mentor and oversee the work of more junior engineering staff as appropriate.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages & executes all technical / engineering deliverables for one or more projects simultaneously
  • Coordinates activities for engineering staff / teams
  • Works cross-functionally to identify user needs, quality & regulatory requirements and develops engineering design inputs to ensure the product design meets all requirements
  • Participates in user evaluations of prototype designs, incorporates users feedback into iterative design revisions
  • Participates in / leads research programs that may lead to future product development
  • Leads creation of engineering documentation (eg drawings / specifications, protocols, reports, etc) and reviews engineering documentation created by others
  • Leads risk management activities and implements risk mitigations into product designs
  • Mentors more junior engineers to develop product design best-practices
  • Ensures that all parts and processes for production come together to deliver the correct quality of final product
  • Plans / participates in the product transition for manufacturing production ramp-up
  • Participates in or leads customer complaint / failure analysis activities as necessary
  • Creates, develops and maintains relationships with key vendors
  • Regularly interfaces and communicates with management to provide project updates

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

EDUCATION, SKILLS, COMPETENCIES, KNOWLEDGE, AUTHORITIES & ABILITIES:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as a product development engineer or project manager in the medical device industry (experience with FDA class II or III medical devices preferred)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in scientific or engineering field is required; Master's Degree in technical field and/or MBA preferred
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-function teams to successfully commercialize product designs
  • Effective negotiation and decision-making skills
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills and organizational skills
  • Team player motivated by success of the company, goal-oriented
  • Ability to originate and complete projects with little to no oversight
  • Ability to interact successfully with multiple internal stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Analytical thinker with problem solving skills and ability to adapt to changing priorities
  • Proficiency in the use of PC and programs, particularly SolidWorks, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Occasional travel may be required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $140,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
