About the Role:
As the New Business Production Underwriter Executive, you will be responsible for overseeing new business production managers, ensuring they achieve production goals and comply with underwriting guidelines while securing profitable premiums. This position involves travel approximately 30-40% of the time. You will manage an assigned underwriting territory to foster profitable growth, identify new business opportunities, and cultivate strong agency relationships.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Possesses a Bachelor's degree and has 6+ years of related insurance experience, or an equivalent blend of education and experience.
- Experienced in Excess & Surplus, General Liability, and Property underwriting.
- Prior experience collaborating with independent agents is preferred.
- Proficient in basic computer programs within a Windows environment, including Word, Excel, and E-mail.
- Skilled in using online underwriting tools in a paperless setting, such as SAGE, Silver Plume, and Reference Connect, is an advantage.
- Preferably has advanced professional insurance coursework (e.g., CPCU, ASLI, and AU) or has completed other insurance-related classes.
