They’re seeking an experienced Middle Market Underwriter to service their Midwest US region clients.
ABOUT THE POSITION:
As the Middle Market Underwriter, you’ll:
- Underwrite new and renewal business, including soliciting, selecting, rejecting, and pricing complex risks.
- Administer and monitor underwriting rules and guidelines, rating manual rules, insurance laws, and regulations.
- Analyze the quality and quantity of underwritten risks and prepare reports accordingly.
- Participate in developing the agency's management strategy and contribute to the development and execution of agency plans.
- Develop client relationships and coordinate the service team's efforts.
- Provide technical guidance to coworkers.
- Collaborate with others and provide guidance to work on increasingly complex assignments within established authority.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE HAS:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in Commercial Lines.
- Prior experience in, or knowledge of, Minnesota, Wisconsin and/or Michigan markets and ability to travel within these markets is strongly preferred.
- Strong technical skills in Workers Compensation, General Liability and Automobile.
- Property and Umbrella experience is a plus.
- Dynamic, self-motivated, with a proven track record of premium growth and profitability in handling a book of business.
- Superior marketing skills and familiarity working with agents and brokers of all types.
- CPCU designation is preferred.
