ABOUT THE POSITION:
As an Environmental Underwriter (ECC), you'll oversee the profitability, growth, and retention of your assigned book of business, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives with a focus on Environmental Engineers, Consultants & Contractors (ECC).
Key Responsibilities:
• Assess risk acceptability based on applications and financial requirements.
• Display technical underwriting expertise and thorough file documentation.
• Price risks based on financial and competitive analysis.
• Develop new business opportunities to drive growth.
• Adhere to underwriting rules and guidelines.
• Utilize tools for accurate classifications, rates, and premium charges.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE HAS:
• Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of commercial underwriting experience or equivalent.
• Prior experience in environmental underwriting required
with a focus on Environmental Engineers, Consultants & Contractors (ECC).
• Professional designation (AU, ARM, CPCU) or in progress.
• Independent, entrepreneurial spirit for managing a large book of business.
• Commitment to client relationship management.
• Advanced computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Strong interpersonal skills and team oriented.
• P&C License.
• Experience with small to mid-sized accounts in a fast-paced environment preferred.
