We did so by creating "performance based executive search" which requires a percentage of the fee upon initiation of the search with the remainder due only upon successful completion. Compensation needs to be upwards of $100k, no matter what the urgency of the hire. We allow client to dictate priority and base our retainers not on arbitrary compensation numbers but on urgency.
Take multiple searches simultaneously. Will only take 3-5 retained searches at a time allowing for dedicated time and attention per every search.
Have "hands-off" companies where they are restricted from tapping into candidates or resources. No recruiting restrictions unless specified contractually.
The average "fill rate" for a retained firm is shy of 75%. Hobson Associates fills 98% of the retained searches that we take on.
