There’s no debate. Sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR) have moved to the forefront of the global economy. These issues focus on how to meet the present needs of a demanding global community without impacting the ability of future generations to meet theirs.
Throughout our history, Hobson Associates has partnered with companies that have pioneered practices in their respective fields. Not only have we been intimately connected to leaders and innovators in the areas of technology, product and service development, and best business practices, but now we’re linked to those with sustainability and corporate social responsibility initiatives. In this new era, we believe that organizations, regardless of size or industry, will be measured on the profit metric as well as on positive environmental and social impact.
Through our extensive networks, we have direct access to talented professionals who already understand the significant role that sustainability and CSR will play in a company’s overall success. These professionals have crafted and implemented sustainability practices into all aspects of their business models and, in turn, have inspired sustainability and CSR initiatives from their teams.
Although we are a relatively small player in the global economy, we strive to do our part as a “corporate citizen.” We have installed energy-reducing window treatments, traded our bottled water service for a filter system utilizing our municipal water supply, and even use a one-cup brewing system for office coffee. We also use environmentally friendly cleaning supplies and office paper products with a high percentage of post-consumer recycled content.
With regards to CSR, our team contributes their time and money to Coram Deo, Recovery Living Centers in central Connecticut, which offer safe, affordable, drug- and alcohol-free housing for women over 18 years of age. The goal of Coram Deo is to help clients re-enter the community as drug-free, responsible, gainfully employed citizens.
We also encourage all employees to actively give back to the community in ways that are personally meaningful to them. We give matching corporate donations and time off to pursue volunteer efforts.
